I’m Sarah Sadler, the founder, creative director and photographer behind Red Shoe Makeovers, a female‑focused portrait and content‑creation studio in Chester
My work blends photography with human‑centred design to help people be seen and heard. I offer empowering makeover sessions, natural “Come As You Are” portraits and explorations of identity through projects like Masculinities and The Projection Project. Alongside photography, I’ve opened a content‑creator studio in a 17th‑century barn for hire and provide branding photography that connects visual identity with authentic storytelling. My mission is to empower clients of all ages, encourage authenticity and create spaces where stories can unfold.
What I offer
Content Creator Studio – A flexible studio space in a 17th‑century converted barn filled with natural light, high ceilings and dedicated areas for podcasts, video, photography and meetings.
Traditional makeover photography – A 4–6 hour experience that includes hair and makeup, multiple outfit changes and guidance from me. Clients travel from across the UK to my Chester studio to celebrate their beauty and strength, whether they’re eight or eighty.
“Come As You Are” portraits – Unretouched, natural sessions with no makeup artist or posing instructions, designed to help women embrace themselves as they are.
Masculinities project – A participatory design project where I collaborate with participants to explore masculine identities and complex design thinking.
Branding photography – Product, fashion and headshot photography that emphasises building meaningful connections and emotional resonance through visuals.
Art projects – Including The Projection Project, which critically examines how women are portrayed on social media and the pressures of online self‑representation.
