Experience Cheshire’s Countryside With Us
We’re a family‑run caravan and camping site set in 15 acres of peaceful Cheshire countryside. Our park offers panoramic views and lakeside decking alongside hardstanding caravan bays, electric‑equipped tent pitches and the option to wild‑camp by the lake. We’re part of Applegates Farm, so our guests have easy access to our farm shop, cosy café, antique centre and artisan workshops. Whether you’re passing through or planning a longer stay, we invite you to relax and enjoy everything our little slice of Cheshire has to offer.
Our Site & Accommodation
Our camping and caravan area provides five hardstanding bays, each with 15‑amp electric hook‑ups and water points. There are also four grass tent pitches with electric and water and a beautiful wild‑camping area by the lake. A network of paths leads you to lakeside decking where you can watch the sunrise or stargaze under dark skies. We welcome touring caravans, motorhomes and camping rallies, and we supply logs and gas on site.
Our lakeside shepherd’s hut is perfect for a quiet getaway. Looked after by mother‑and‑daughter team Karen and Natalie, the hut enjoys lake‑side views and local wildlife. You’ll witness spectacular sunsets and can enjoy stargazing thanks to our dark skies. It’s a wonderful place to unwind or use as a base for exploring the historic city of Chester or Chester Zoo—both just a short drive away.
On-Site Facilities
We’ve invested in quality facilities to make your stay comfortable:
Fully serviced bays – each hardstanding pitch has 15‑amp hook‑ups, photocell lighting, drinking‑water points and easy access to chemical and grey‑water disposal points.
Heated amenities block – separate male and female toilets and showers with shaver points, hand dryers and heated towel rails. There’s free Wi‑Fi across the park.
Farm shop & café – our on‑site shop stocks fine meats, fresh vegetables, cakes, cheeses, milk, bread, eggs and sausages, so you can enjoy a relaxed stay without leaving the farm. The Applegates Café serves home‑cooked meals and snacks in a restored 17th‑century barn. You can eat in or grab a takeaway to enjoy back at your van or tent.
Fishing lake – guests have exclusive access to fish in our lake, which is stocked with a variety of coarse fish and brown trout.
Antique & craft centre – our Applegates Antiques Centre occupies a converted dairy building and is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.. It’s packed with furniture, mirrors, chandeliers and named ceramics (Royal Worcester, Beswick, Lladro, Clarice Cliff, Moorcroft and Staffords), plus jewellery, vintage clothing, collectables and reclaimed garden pieces. We also buy antiques – call 01829 770 524 if you have something interesting to sell.
Workshops & signage – our farm hosts several artisan businesses. Oak & Stone Co produces bespoke house signs and personalised gifts from oak and stone in our Chester workshops; you can order online or visit the workshop and contact them on 01829 770 642.
